In the event of a user reporting a smell of gas, or suspect combustion products are leaking into a habitable room, the following procedure MUST be followed.

- Don’t turn electric switches on or off
- Don’t Smoke
- Don’t use naked flames
- Do turn off the gas supply at the gas meter
- Do open doors and windows to get rid of the gas

Were possible ask the end user to ring themselves , however, if the user is unsure or confused then you should ring on their behalf and take a note of the log number issued by Transco and record this on to the Optim system as a permanent record (advice call)
