A Heavenly Installation for Heatclub Services
When Heatclub Services Ltd was approached by a local Baptist Church in Southport town centre to design the heating system for their new church, it gave the company the perfect opportunity to carry out its first high-efficiency installation.
The project team at the church wanted a heating system that was cost-effective and efficient, which would be used to heat the Baptist church, church hall and nursery around the clock. As a result, Heatclub decided to install a high-efficiency system.
We have worked on many installations in and around the Southport area," explains Alec Fletcher of Heatclub Services, who works alongside his father Andrew and business partner Peter Kilduff. "We were delighted to be asked to work on the new Baptist Church but it presented us with an interesting challenge as we had never used high-efficiency boilers before.
Heatclub has a policy of working closely with manufacturers such as Ideal Boilers to ensure that the most suitable system is used for every installation. After deciding on a high-efficiency (HE) system for the church, Alec contacted Mike Halliwell, business development manager at Ideal, to discuss the project.
I have worked with Ideal in the past and the company's mini boilers have proved popular with our customers. Our area representative, Mike Halliwell, is excellent and he was more than happy to offer his advice for this particular installation. As this was our first time installing an HE boiler I wanted to be sure that we would have a good level of support throughout the installation in case there were any problems. Having worked with Mike in the past, I felt confident that Ideal would recommend the right HE boiler for the job and guide us through the installation from start to finish.
Working closely with Mike and the technical team at Ideal, Alec recommended using a modular installation with two icos system HE boilers. The icos system HE 24kw is one of the new generation of high-efficiency boilers launched by Ideal last year. SEDBUK A rated, the icos system HE meets all Part L requirements and is a very cost-effective and efficient heating system. In addition, all the necessary components are incorporated into the boiler, enabling easy installation into a fully pumped sealed system and making it perfect for situations where space is at a premium.
In addition to the icos system HE boilers, Heatclub also used 10 compact and 20 Low Surface Temperature (LST) radiators manufactured by Ideal's sister company, Stelrad Radiators. The LSTs were perfect for use in the nursery area where the safety of the children was a prime concern and the compacts fitted unobtrusively within the rest of the church.
Being able to deal with just one supplier for both the boilers and radiators simplified things for us,
said Alec. If we had any problems, we only needed to speak to one supplier saving us valuable time. The after-care service offered by Ideal is excellent so we are confident that any potential problems will always be dealt with quickly and efficiently
.
Following the success of the installation at the church, Heatclub has been asked to handle an installation for another church in the Bury area, near Manchester.
It is great to be asked to do more work on the basis of a successful installation,
said Alec. We are grateful to Ideal for the excellent support they offered us during the project which ensured that it went very smoothly despite it being our first HE installation. I would have no hesitation in working with Ideal in the future and look forward to using more of the company's HE products.
