HVP takes a closer look at an installation of Ideal Boilers' new Esprit HE 30 combination boiler
Ideal's new range of Esprit HE boilers is the result of extensive independent research with over 1100 installers from across the UK to find out exactly what they wanted and needed from a domestic boiler. This revealed that ease of installation and servicing, confidence in the quality and reliability of the product, price, simple to site and ease of use were the key factors installers were looking for in an appliance.
Available in a range of three models (24, 30 and 35kW), the Ideal Esprit features a proven cast aluminium-silicon heat exchanger, along with a brass waterset, Grundfos pump and concealed system connections for consistent, reliable and durable performance. Features such as a centrally positioned telescopic flue kit, together with preformed copper connections at pipe clip distance from the wall and pre-fitted mains electrical lead, make installation fast and simple.
For ease and speed of servicing, inside the boiler there is more space around the components to allow access for hands to manoeuvre, along with drop down controls and easy access to the condensate syphon. Other features include a filling loop and automatic bypass built in as standard. These, together with optional programmers, including RF versions, enable the end-user to control central heating and hot water demands at the touch of a button and with highest efficiency and economy. The complete range also comes with a 10 year parts warranty on the heat exchanger and two year parts and labour warranty on the whole product for total peace of mind.
A recent installation at a 20 year old semi-detached house in the West Midlands put these claims to the test. For installer, Stuart Wood, this was not only the first time he had installed an Esprit HE, but also the first time he had installed an Ideal Boiler.
The installation went very smoothly and I was impressed by the installation guide which was easy to follow and clear,
explains Stuart. The flueing system was also impressive and, again, exceptionally straightforward to install. I was really pleased with the finished job and I would certainly install an Esprit, or indeed, any Ideal product again.
